I always feel so blessed when families choose me to share this wonderful experience with them. I had the joy of working with Lily's older brother Levi during his senior year. Such a compliment to have Lily in front of my lens this year! Just as the title says, "Sweet Lily", this young lady is everything sweet, kind and naturally beautiful from the inside out. She has such a sweet and comfortable energy about her, such a pleasure to share time with. Good luck to you Lily, your future is full of so many possibilities!
2020 was a rough year for our Class of 2021 graduating Seniors. It made me sad to have so little of these wonderful young adults in front of my lens. However, I did have the opportunity to finish up the year with a few beautiful young ladies. Then the holidays hit and I am just now getting around to sharing some of the sessions that didn't make it to the website yet. Danielle was a trooper. It was a little drizzly and a tad bit chilly on the day of her session, but I am so glad that she stuck it out. Fall sessions are rich with color and she just rocked her session. Thank you so much Danielle for sharing this milestone with me in front of my lens. I so enjoyed getting to know you!
This thing called COVID kept me away for a bit, but now it's time to get back into the groove of things. What a perfect time of year to start back up again. Flowers still in bloom, yet fall is in the air and the colors are starting to change. The Point Defiance Gardens is the exact location we needed to be to capture this beautiful time of the year in the great Pacific Northwest. AND let me tell you, this young lady right here brought it all. Sweetest little thing ever! Soft spoken, quiet, sincere, truly a lovely young lady. What was so fun to see and capture was her transition from being a little on the shy side in front of my lens to absolutely OWNING it! Those eyes? Oh.....My....Goodness! Fiona plans on continuing her education to pursue a career in social work with children which isn't surprising at all. Her gentle nature will be such an asset in her career of choice. You will do great things, little Miss. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture and share in this milestone in your life. I had great fun with you!
It just amazes me when a kid that I know suddenly is all grown up! I've known Tanner since he was just a toddler. I hadn't seen him in awhile, so I just about fell over when this "man" appeared in front of my lens! Excited to see what life brings you!
Hard to believe that my nephew will be graduating in 2020! Where has the time gone?!?!? I wish I had some images of the great pieces of art that this young man has created! Can't wait to see where your talents take you - look out Disney!
Facebook has reminded me that I have been less than diligent about keeping my social media sites up to date. 2019 was a bit crazy for me with a move back to Puyallup, setting up house and then right into the holidays. That being said, I had some amazing seniors in front of my lens last year and I have, have, have to share this beautiful young lady with you. Not only is she absolutely STUNNING, she had an amazing attitude and grace about her in the midst of a most rainy Pacific NW day. It absolutely poured down rain minutes before her shoot and we dodged for shelter many times during, but she was such a trooper through it all. Our region of the world may bring some overcast and rainy days, but with that comes the most beautiful portrait light. And this beauty shined brightly through it all. Thank you so much for sharing this day with me - I had so much fun with you and your wonderful family!
When your daughter's best friend says "Hey, will you take some dance pictures for me", you just can't say no. Love you daughter from another mother!
Daylon, Daylon, Daylon - I just LOVED this kid! I mostly have the girls in front of my lens, so I love it when I get to shake things up a bit. Daylon wanted an industrial feel to his portraits and I think we found the perfect place. It was my first time shooting here and Daylon was so patient while we hoofed around seeking out the perfect light. So handsome - and he just nailed that serious look and yet could pull off that genuine smile with ease - I'm pretty sure he gets that from his Momma! She is absolutely adorable! Thank you so much for sharing this special time with me. Much luck to you and thank you for choosing to serve our Country. God Bless You!
The dream begins as little girls playing dress up and twirling about in their Sunday best. Envisioning their Prince Charming and the perfect day that will mark the beginning of their life together as one. And then the day arrives when the perfect guy is there. The adventure begins. Time to go in search of that perfect bridal gown. My son was the "perfect guy" in this story and my soon to be daughter-in-law the twirling little girl with dreams of white satin and lace. She said YES to the dress! So much fun to have been a part of this special day!
There is no avoiding the rain in the Pacific Northwest, but that won't stop a day of camera fun for us! I was so happy that my niece came to spend the day with us. It was a day of makeup and hair and flashing those beautiful smiles my way. They grow up way too fast don't they?
As the end of the year quickly approaches, I am forced to do my year-end computer cleanup. I am not super fond of this chore. I LOVE the portraits I have created and the memories attached to each one and I just don’t like archiving them, but my computer argues with me about storage and space……blah, blah, blah. I should mention that my computer ALWAYS wins this argument! So archiving is an endless task for me, because not only do I get caught up in sorting through the current years portraits, but I also seem to lose myself in the already archived files. You know how that goes…..you open one photo album and pretty soon you have every single family photo album ever created stacked up and spread out all over the living room floor with tears rolling down your cheeks! (Same situation, only in digital form.) I absolutely ADORE every single one of the Seniors that have smiled down at me through my lens! So as a way to ease my pain, over the next few weeks I am going to celebrate and share some of the beautiful, handsome and strong young adults that have graced my lens. And then, "Mr. Computer", I promise…..I will get busy archiving!
It’s December 1st and the official countdown to Christmas begins! I can’t think of a better way to start the month than by sharing a holiday portrait session that I had the privilege of capturing with my cherished friend Kristin and her spirited little family! We discovered a charming new destination not far from home just bursting with opportunities to create fun holiday portraits. Pair that with my beautiful friend Kristin, her handsome hubby and adorable son and Voila…..the magic of the season begins! Memories created and captured to be treasured for years to come. Merry Christmas to my dear friends Kristin, Dan and the oh, so sweet Liam and thank you for filling my lens and my heart with Christmas joy!
Oh, how I LOVE this season in the Pacific NW! We shot this senior session at Wrights Park in downtown Tacoma. The blanket of orange and gold leaves and the beautiful natural light created the perfect backdrop. Two is "ALWAYS" better than one and this was no exception! TWINS! I had a great time getting to know Abigail and Joseph and their super sweet Mom as we wandered around the park chatting and snapping away. It's so fun to hear about my seniors future plans, schools of choice and anticipated career paths. I had the opportunity to meet and share an interesting chat with Dad as well at the Reveal Session. I really love that the Senior Portrait Experience doesn't just end with the final click of my shutter. I wish you both many successes and hope Mom and Dad do well with the empty nesting that will all too soon happen. They really do grow up far too quick......break out the Kleenex!
Have you ever met someone and instantly felt at ease? Well, meet Shane. So easy going, patient, fun, relaxed - a photographer's dream to have in front of the lens. Shane showed up with his Momma, Sister and Grandma in tow. I LOVE when the family gets involved in Senior Portraits. It's an experience to remember and one that definitely is at its' best when shared with family. And this family is the BEST! Shane's session was scheduled on a day that I think every high school in town scheduled their Homecoming! Lots of people, lots of cameras and lots of activity, but we didn't miss a beat. After graduation, Shane plans to follow the path into law enforcement. What an honorable career path to choose. I just hope that one day he remembers his good old photographer friend when he catches a little VW Bug buzzin' around town maybe just a wee bit faster than should be! {wink} Thank you again Shane and family for sharing this special time with me - I had an absolute blast with you all!
ADORABLE! That's my word for Jenna. Absolutely.......ADORABLE! LOVE everything about her. The Pacific NW weather sure gave us a run for our money with a couple of windy, cold, rained out weekends, but we were finally graced with some clear skies and we took advantage of it. Such a trooper Jenna was with the wind blowing so cold that it literally brought tears to those gorgeous eyes of hers. I'm so glad she stuck it out with me. The shots we were able to capture are among some of my favorites. It was well worth the wait! I had so much fun with you and your beautiful Momma - thank you for sharing this time with me!
Fall Senior Sessions are without a doubt one of my FAVORITES and wow did the Pacific Northwest weather cooperate with us by sharing a wonderfully warm fall afternoon. The light was absolute perfection, as was this GORGEOUS senior in front of my lens. I tell you what..........I am one lucky photographer! Faith was quick to smile and her laugh was absolutely contagious. And what a sport she was - tiptoeing through rocks in heels with a couple of slippery areas that just made her smile all the more! Faith, you have a beautiful light that shines within and it just envelopes all that are near. Oh what amazing things you will accomplish in your future! Thank you for sharing this special time with me!.
Ok....this guy right here.....he brought it! Style, humor, fun AND oh those expressions! I knew the minute Levi stepped in front of my lens that he was going to rock his session. He kept me smiling the entire time with his quick change expressions. He nailed the serious look every single time with a quick "mom portrait" smile immediately after! At the time of his session, he shared that he hopes to continue his education while pursuing a degree in physical therapy. I have no doubt he will achieve anything that he sets his mind too. Thank you for sharing this fun afternoon with me. I look forward to seeing where your future takes you.
What are Senior Portraits without some beautiful images in the great outdoors? The Pacific NW sunshine graced us on the day of Emma's session. So, after her studio session we headed out to chase those golden rays! What a joy it was to hang out with this amazing young lady and her awesome mom and little sister. There is a genuine warmth and kindness you feel when you are with Emma and her family. Oh and those eyes of hers! So beautifully expressive! I so look forward to seeing where this bright star shines. Hold on Momma Janet, this year is going to be full of tears as your first born transitions through her last year of high school! Bring on the kleenex!
